Keeping Up with Demand for KURU Footwear.
KURU Footwear has experienced steady, organic growth of roughly 10 to 15% every year for over a decade. But since the pandemic, sales have exploded. Annual sales revenue for the online shoe company climbed 30% in 2020 and 55% in 2021.
While growth was welcome, the unprecedented order volume posed fulfillment challenges. Supply chain issues and product line expansion also complicated matters. KURU turned to its long-time fulfillment partner Saddle Creek Logistics for a scalable fulfillment solution.
Fulfillment Solution Helps Scale for Growth
The Saddle Creek team jumped into high gear, maximizing storage density, improving processes, leveraging WMS and OMS systems, and adding mobile-printing technology to enable point-of-pick packing. Overall fulfillment output nearly doubled. As a result, KURU has been able to accommodate record order volume without missing a beat on customer service.
Saddle Creek also implemented a new returns process to help KURU manage returns more efficiently and cost-effectively.
“Saddle Creek comes to the table with innovative solutions to help us surprise and delight our customers and make it easy for them to do business with us,” explains Joel Carlin, Supply Chain Manager at KURU Footwear.
